The Children’s Center of Ohio, LLC is a privately owned residential treatment provider serving youth ages 8–18 in a structured, therapeutic environment. Established in March 1999, the Center delivers comprehensive behavioral health, educational, and residential programming designed to promote stability, accountability, and long-term success. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the program integrates individualized treatment planning, clinical counseling, academic support, and life-skills development within a phased residential model. Through collaboration with referring agencies and families, the Center is committed to creating safe, supportive pathways toward positive behavioral change and successful community reintegration.

Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Morehead State University. He holds multiple professional certifications, including Safe Crisis Management Instructor, American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Instructor, and Sex Offender Treatment Specialist. His strong academic and professional background supports his commitment to excellence in program administration and youth development.
Michael began his career in 1990 at The Ramey Estep Homes in Ashland, Kentucky, where he advanced from Child Care Worker to Counselor/Group Leader, Program Coordinator, and Recreation Director. These early leadership roles helped shape his comprehensive understanding of residential programming, clinical services, and organizational management.
In March 1999, Michael founded The Children’s Center of Ohio and served as President and Executive Director until 2020. He currently serves as President and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing financial operations, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. His responsibilities include billing and billing audits, interviewing prospective clients, and serving as President of the Board of Advisors.
Through his vision, dedication, and commitment to youth-centered care, Michael continues to guide the organization’s mission of providing safe, supportive, and transformative services for children and families.

Hannah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor and a Licensed Social Worker. She holds extensive professional certifications, including Trauma-Informed Care and Resilience Trainer, CPR/First Aid, JKM Safe Crisis Management, Drug-Free Safety Program Trainer, Sex Offender Treatment Specialist, and OCCRRA Trauma Informed Care Levels 1, 2, and 3. Her commitment to professional excellence reflects her ongoing dedication to evidence-based and trauma-responsive care.
She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Rio Grande and a Master of Education in Community Mental Health from Ohio University. Her academic background supports her strong foundation in clinical leadership and organizational development.
Throughout her career, Hannah has served in multiple leadership and clinical roles, including Treatment Director and Mental Health Counselor, providing her with comprehensive insight into both direct care and administrative operations.
As CEO, Hannah is responsible for maintaining organizational policies and procedures, overseeing certification processes with DCY and CARF, managing payroll and human resources, and serving as a board member. She leads staff training initiatives and oversees compliance systems including OCAF and RTIS. Through these responsibilities, she ensures accountability, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery across all programs.
Through her vision, compassion, and commitment to excellence, Hannah remains deeply dedicated to improving outcomes for youth and strengthening the communities the organization serves.

Nathan has completed college coursework and holds numerous professional certifications, including Certified JKM Instructor, Trauma Competent Level II, CPR/First Aid Instructor, CDCA-II, and Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS). He is a licensed CDCA-II and has been a Certified Safe Crisis Management (SCM) Instructor for nearly 15 years. Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong focus on professional development and compliance with industry standards.
Having worked in nearly every role within residential treatment, Nathan possesses comprehensive knowledge of program operations, youth development, and clinical support services. His experience allows him to provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance across all levels of the organization.
In his current position, Nathan is responsible for overseeing OCAF, RTIS and assisting with DCY and CARF certification processes. He supports program operations and goals, assists with admissions and discharges, contributes to treatment planning, and helps prepare monthly reports and discharge summaries. Through his dedication, expertise, and leadership, Nathan plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality services for youth and families.

Andrew is a high school graduate and completed four years of college coursework. He holds certifications in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), CPR/First Aid, and Trauma-Informed Care, reflecting his commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for youth.
Prior to joining The Children’s Center of Ohio, Andrew worked for ten years in residential programming at The Ramey Estep Homes, where he developed strong skills in behavior management, supervision, and program coordination. In addition to his professional background, Andrew played high school basketball for four years and went on to compete in collegiate basketball for four years, experiences that strengthened his leadership, teamwork, and mentoring abilities.
In his current role, Andrew coordinates daily program operations, supports staff and residents, and helps ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures. Through his dedication, positive leadership, and long-term commitment to youth services, Andrew continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the youth he serves.
Krissy Waddle

Krissy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1994 and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in 1995 from Ohio University. She has been a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board since 1995, reflecting her long-standing commitment to professional standards and ethical practice.
Prior to joining The Children’s Center of Ohio, Krissy served as a Therapist with Mended Reeds Mental Health from 2012 to 2026, providing comprehensive services to community and residential clients. Her work included clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, ongoing progress reviews, and aftercare planning.
From 1995 to 2012, Krissy worked as a Social Worker III with Lawrence County Children Services, where she investigated child abuse and neglect cases, supported family reunification efforts, coordinated foster care placements, and collaborated closely with juvenile and adult court systems, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies. She also maintained strong relationships with community partners and service providers to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
In her current role, Krissy provides therapeutic support, conducts assessments, contributes to treatment planning, and supports continued care and aftercare services. Through her compassion, professionalism, and extensive experience, she plays a vital role in promoting stability, healing, and long-term success for the youth served by the organization.
Bill Wurts

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Social Studies from Ohio University and has completed graduate-level coursework toward a Master’s Degree in Education. He has been certified in Safe Crisis Management (SCM) for nearly 15 years and has previously maintained certifications in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Protective Action Response (PAR), and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI). He has also been CPR and First Aid trained since 2007 and completed all three levels of trauma-informed training during the initial training cycle.
With specialized expertise in therapeutic team building, Bill plays a key role in strengthening collaboration among staff and supporting positive outcomes for youth. His comprehensive understanding of residential operations allows him to ensure consistency, accountability, and high-quality service delivery.
In his current role, Bill oversees intake coordination, discharge planning, treatment planning, and case documentation. He is responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory timelines, coordinating multidisciplinary meetings, managing monthly reports and exit processes, supporting aftercare planning, and assisting with canteen programming. He also maintains contact binders, oversees independent living assessments, manages petty cash documentation, and participates in supervisory and treatment team meetings.
Through his dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to youth-centered care, Bill contributes significantly to the organization’s mission of supporting growth, stability, and long-term success for the youth it serves.
Stacie Davis

Stacie graduated from Southwestern High School in 1990 and later attended Buckeye Hills Career Center, where she became a licensed Emergency Medical Technician in 1998. She returned to Buckeye Hills Career Center and completed the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program in 2006. Her extensive professional certifications include Medication and IV Therapy, American Red Cross CPR/First Aid, OCCRA Trauma-Informed Care Levels 1 and 2, Wound Care, Alzheimer’s Specialist, and Correctional Nurse certifications.
Her professional background includes service as an EMT with Gallia County EMS and Life Critical Care Transport, as well as nursing leadership roles at Scenic Hills Nursing Center, where she advanced to Nursing Supervisor, and at Brevard County Jail, where she served as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. These experiences have strengthened her ability to provide high-quality medical care in complex and high-responsibility environments.
In her current role, Stacie manages the QuickMAR system, coordinates medication ordering and pharmacy communications, schedules medical, dental, vision, vaccination, and specialty appointments, and conducts monthly provider visits. She completes nursing assessments, admission physical exams, treatment plan documentation, and incident reports, while maintaining accurate medical records and physician orders.
Stacie is also responsible for staff and youth drug screening, staff training, emergency on-call coverage, and maintaining medical equipment and treatment carts. She leads nursing groups, provides weekly physical activity programs, and works closely with caseworkers, guardians, and healthcare providers to address medical needs and concerns.
Through her professionalism, dedication, and commitment to holistic care, Stacie plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and overall well-being of the youth served by The Children’s Center of Ohio.

With a background in behavior management, crisis response, and staff supervision, Madison brings consistency, professionalism, and compassion to her role. She holds a high school diploma and has completed some college coursework. Her professional certifications include Trauma-Informed Care (Level 2), CPR/First Aid, and Safe Crisis Management (SCM).
In her current position, Madison supervises and supports program staff, provides leadership during shifts, and ensures compliance with program policies and procedures. She models best practice in trauma-informed care while supporting residents in achieving individualized treatment and behavioral goals. Madison is also responsible for maintaining a safe, structured environment, managing crisis situations effectively, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Through ongoing training, collaboration, and program planning, Madison remains dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere where youth can grow, heal, and succeed.

Jordan is a high school graduate and has completed some college coursework. He holds certifications in CPR/First Aid and JKM Safe Crisis Management and is committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for youth in care.
Throughout his career, Jordan has worked in residential treatment facilities, developing strong skills in behavior management, supervision, and youth engagement. His experience in construction has further strengthened his organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to structure and safety.
In his current role, Jordan oversees the daily operations of the 1st Meet Girls unit, monitors residents’ phase progress, and coordinates family visits and phone calls. He maintains consistent communication with families, caseworkers, and counselors to support each youth’s treatment goals and emotional well-being. Through collaboration and positive leadership, Jordan helps create a stable and encouraging environment for growth and success.

He works closely with young people to encourage responsibility, accountability, and healthy decision-making. Micheal is a graduate of South Gallia High School and completed trade school training in Automotive Technology from Buckeye Hills Career Center. He holds certifications in Trauma-Informed Care Level 2, JKM Safe Crisis Management and CPR/First Aid. Prior to joining The Children’s Center of Ohio, he worked as a floor supervisor at Middleton, a technician at John Sang Ford, and in line maintenance at Bellisio Foods, where he developed strong problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills.
In his current position, Micheal provides oversight of the 2nd Meet program, ensuring that youth phone calls are completed, visitation is monitored, and program expectations are consistently upheld. He is responsible for completing monthly summaries for each resident in the 2nd Meet unit and works closely with staff to support youth progress and accountability.
Through his commitment to consistency, positive role modeling, and youth development, Micheal plays an important role in maintaining a supportive and structured environment for residents.

Isaiah holds certifications in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), CPR/First Aid, and Trauma-Informed Care Level 1. These credentials support his ability to maintain a safe, structured, and trauma-responsive environment for youth in care.
In his current position, Isaiah oversees the daily operations of the 3rd Meet unit and supports residents as they progress through program phases. He facilitates youth phone calls, communicates regularly with caseworkers and parents, and monitors each youth’s progress to identify strengths and areas for improvement. By focusing on individualized support and goal setting, Isaiah helps youth develop the skills they need for long-term success.

LeeAnn Ball

LeeAnn is a graduate of Ironton High School and attended Ohio University. She holds CPR/First Aid certification and brings a strong foundation in organization, communication, and youth-centered support to her role. Prior to joining The Children’s Center of Ohio, she spent eight years teaching Pre-K at Central Christian Daycare, where she developed valuable skills in early childhood education, family engagement, and program coordination.
In her current position, LeeAnn manages new employee onboarding, assists with accreditation and compliance processes, and processes admissions paperwork for newly placed youth. She also supports scheduling, staff training, and professional development initiatives. In addition, she assists with county contracts, oversees the organization’s social media presence, coordinates staff recruitment and interviews, and helps organize community outreach and special events.

She holds certifications in Trauma-Informed Care (Levels 1 and 2) and CPR/First Aid. Prior to joining the team, Shawna worked for three years as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) at Wyngate at Rivers Edge and with Hospice of Huntington, where she developed strong skills in client care, documentation, and professional communication. She also served as a Payroll Specialist with Wise Home Care for two years, gaining valuable experience in financial and administrative operations.
In her current position, Shawna is responsible for conducting file checks for all current and former youth, managing canteen purchases and account balances, and ensuring accurate records are maintained for youth who have exited the program. She also assists with administrative paperwork and keeps youth documentation and tracking records up to date, including AWOL and related program records.
Shawna is committed to maintaining efficient operations and supporting both staff and residents through reliable, detail-oriented administrative support.
